I was fascinated by the babushka guarding the exhibits in these St Petersburg museums. Given that most of them will have experienced the transition from communist times, one wonders what they are thinking about as they stand there, day after day, watching 'wealthy' foreign tourists. (These photos were taken discretely and not commissioned.)
